Fox Lake is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

We are one of 13 districts listed in Steuben County and the only Black resort in the state of Indiana. Fox Lake is among more than 100 lakes in Steuben County, Indiana. We enjoy the lake community and invite family and friends from near and far to share their favorite memories, create new experiences, enjoy great food, and have loads of fun. We have been flourishing since the 1920’s, providing over 100 years of lakeside experiences, comfort, and memories for everyone

CONGRATULATIONS
FOX LAKE PRESERVATION FOUNDATION

Fox Lake Preservation Foundation is proud to have received the Indiana Landmarks’ Servaas Memorial Award, recognizing outstanding achievement in historic preservation. The award was presented to Kathryn Hawkins, president of the Fox Lake Preservation Foundation, and other foundation members include Carol Karst-Wasson, Teresa Van Stratt, Robin Newburn, and Edgar Smith.

The ceremony was well attended by some of our Fox Lake members, among others, and the celebration continued at a local dinner club where we were entertained by a performance from one of our own Fox Lake members, Teresa Reynolds, and her band “The Slicktones”.

2025 Leadership Through Legacy Recipient Chosen!

Sydney's academic achievement and family ties through her great grandfather (William Terry and Harold Boyd), embodies the very core values of the scholarship's title: “Leadership Through Legacy”

She will be entering into her senior year at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology where she has excelled academically with honors and is a member of the elite National Honor Society and is also a recipient of the coveted Bulldog Achievement Award 2022-2025.

She has worked as Student Manager of the women's volleyball team, Interned at Butler Community Arts School supporting a variety of summer camps and students of different age groups. She has also Job Shadowed with a physical therapist at St Vincent Performance Center.

Additionally, she has been a Camp Counselor at Day Spring Center, a homeless shelter for families. She has volunteered at Erica Wheeler and JaJuan Johnson's Basketball Camps and has Danced Professionally since the age of 5-19, trained in Ballet, Modern, African, Jazz and Tap.

Upon graduation in May 2026, Sydney plans to attend graduate school in preparation for a career in Sports Psychology and upon completion of her masters degree, she plans to work for a professional sports team or with a private psychology firm before moving into private practice. She is clearly on an express path to achieving her career goals.
